ADT has made many important contributions to the security industry, but as of late they’ve been playing catch-up. While their entry-level monthly rate is reasonable, these rates are likely to increase significantly over time.
We invest in the latest security technology so that you only install reliable equipment that won’t fail on you when you need it most.
We offer professional installation, and if you ever need help, we’ll be with you every step of the way to make sure things go smoothly. We don’t just protect homes with industry-leading equipment; we also provide businesses with the best business security systems.
Crash and Smash Protection
ADT often heavily promotes their offer for a “free” system, which likely means two things:
1) The equipment is going to be the cheapest option available, meaning fewer features, fewer upgrade options, and more frustrated calls with ADT customer service to get equipment fixed or replaced.
2) ADT will charge you a higher fee and ramp up this fee each year so that they can quickly earn their money back.
The average home security buyer has no idea that the alarm panel they just pulled out of the box is not up-to-date with the full suite of security options that other systems do.
Historically, ADT equipment has been riddled with security holes that can be exploited by criminals looking to break into your home.
In the past few years, ADT had to pay $16 million to customers after being sued multiple times for using “unencrypted wireless communications systems that rendered [home security systems] vulnerable to being hacked.” The unsecured network could let unauthorized users onto the system and disable it remotely, making the entire home vulnerable.
Professional in-facility alarm monitoring ensures that you get the fastest possible response time in an emergency, whether it’s a break-in, fire, carbon monoxide leak, or other danger. Our central station is UL-listed, meaning it meets the strict regulations in disaster preparedness.
Since the dawn of COVID-19, at-home monitoring has become a trend in our industry.
At Alarm New England, we are proud to say ALL monitoring is done exclusively from our monitoring centers.
At-home monitoring results in poor, unreliable service, and you deserve maximum protection and peace of mind.
This is our standard, and anything less is unacceptable when protecting lives and property.
It has recently come to light that 85% of all ADT signals are received by operators working from home.
At-home monitoring poses significant safety and security risks, including distracted operators, missed signals, compromised data security, and unreliable internet connection/power.
Alarm New England has never considered an at-home monitoring model.
Our highly-trained operators monitor only from our secure facilities, which each ensure:
In addition to selling their own security systems, ADT also allows smaller dealers to sell under their brand and then they only handle your monitoring. That means if you purchased your system from a third-party equipment dealer and you have a problem with your equipment, ADT can’t help you. You have to contact the dealer. Having to work with two different companies — one for the equipment and one for the monitoring — can be frustrating and time consuming.
When you have a customer base as large as ADT, providing a consistent level of service can be a challenge —as the company has alluded to in the past. ADT has to field 500,000 calls a day, so you’ll never talk to the same person twice. Good luck getting a person on the phone who will solve your problem.
Customers have written detailed complaints about sales reps not showing up to scheduled appointments and about being put on hold for hours.
